A strategic planning workshop was held on May 10. Over 40 community members - citizens, organizations, business owners, staff, school personnel, and others did a SWOT analysis of Village Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunity and Threats, prioritized the list and defined strategies. The Village Board heard from the community through a survey distributed in sewer & water utility bills. Workshop participants reconvened in August 2016 to review survey results and  develop recommendations for the Village Board to consider in fall 2016

The Village Board and key staff members met several times in late 2016 and early 2017 to develop goals based on the larger strategic planning group and the citizen survey. The five-year Strategic Plan 2017-2021 was approved by the Village Board on August 14, 2017. Individual trustees are taking leadership of one of the four goals,
