The Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a meeting today with DOT officials, Senator Craig, and Representative Wichgers. Village Trustees and staff, Town and County supervisors, school superintendents, citizens, and business owners attended to learn more about the DOT's announcement to delay the project for at least a year. Village President Don Houston and Administrator Zeke Jackson expressed frustration with the delay, citing earlier delays and a recent confirmation that this project was on schedule to begin this fall. Both noted that the Village borrowed and spent a great deal in preparation for the project by repairing and replacing utility infrastructure and in anticipation of the economic development growth following the project.
